The Oriental Pearl Tower
With a height of 468 meters, the Oriental Pearl Tower ranks the second in Asia and the fourth in the world in height. Located in Pudong New Area and facing a row of buildings of variegated Western architectures in the Bund across the river, it has become the landmark of Shanghai. With Nanpu and Huangpu Bridge on its left and right side respectively, it looks like two dragons playing with a pearl. Standing on the tower and having a bird-eye look of Shanghai, you will feel that the whole city looks just like building blocks made arena by some architects whose wisdom are undoubtedly amazing.
The Bund
The Bund also is an influential attraction, a landmark and one of most famous destinations worth traveling in Shanghai. Fifty two buildings in different styles: gothic, romanesaue, baroque lining in the narrow shoreline of the Huangpu River, with Chinese and Western combinations. And it's also the best place to enjoy the night view of Shanghai.
Yuyuan Garden
Yuyuan garden, which believed to have been built in the Ming Dynastya, is a famous classical garden in south China with a history of more than 400 years. It was once famed as the "top beauty in southeast China". The exquisite layout, beautiful scenery and the artistic style of the garden architecture have made the garden one of the highlights of Shanghai.
Shanghai Museum
As a museum of ancient Chinese art, Shanghai Museum possesses a collection of over 1000,000 objects, about 120,000 of which are precious national-graded works of art. Its rich and high-quality collection of ancient Chinese bronze, ceramics, painting and calligraphy is specially celebrated in the world.
Nanjing Road
Nanjing road, labeled as the No.1 Business Street in China. A miniature of the history and culture of Shanghai, it's a striving commercial hub and a paradise for shopping, eating, amusement and sightseeing.
Xintiandi
Shikumen, aka .Stone Warehouse Gate, is a traditional Shanghai architectural style combing western and Chinese elements that appeared in 1860s. Xintiandi is an affluent car-free shopping, eating and entrainment district of Shanghai. It's the best place for leisure.
The Old City God's Temple
The Old City God's Temple (Laochenghuangmiao) is a major yet relatively inactive, Taoist temple in Shanghai. It is located in the area south of Yan'an Road on the Fangbang Zhong Road. During the Ming Dynasty, Zhangshouyue, the head of Shanghai County, dedicated a temple to the local city god. Since then, the City God's Temple has been destroyed several times and the current temple was built in 1926. During the the war of resistance against Japanese invasion during World War II, local merchants built a new City God's Temple in the Foreign Concession (between Lianyun Road and West Jinling Road). That area is now a high-rise residence building. The "former" temple is known as the Old City God's Temple. The Old City God's Temple and the enclose Yuyuan are not only famous tourist sites but also popular shopping attractions. There are boutiques, shops selling local specialties, as well as large jewelry stores, department stores and fabulous local snack restaurants to be found here.
